The Robert Euler Collection documents Euler's research and activities as an anthropologist and scholar of Southwest idigenous peoples as well as an educator and administrator of institutions of higher education, museums, and the National Park Service. The collection contains correspondence, research notes, field notes, journals, photographic material, draft writings, articles, and reports The strength of the collection resides in the research notes, photographic materials, and field notes related to the anthropological and ethnographic data pertaining to the Nataive American tribes of the Colorado Plateau.

Robert C. Euler was born on August 8, 1924 in New York, New York. Euler studied economics at Arizona State College (now Northern Arizona University) and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in 1947 and 1948 respectively. He received his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in Anthropology in 1958. Prior to completing his education, Euler served in the Marine Corps from 1942-1946 and 1950.
